Mili Hernández is a known activist for LGTBQ+ rights. She’s the owner of Berkana, a bookstore that specializes in diversity. She is also an editor and founder of Egales, a publishing house founded in 1995, specialized in essays and LGTBQ+ literature. Federico and All His Families is her first picture book.
