Gomez studied fine arts at the University of Salamanca. She has worked for several prominent publishing houses, including SM in Spain, Le Petit Bulles Edition in France, and Scholastic and Sterling in the United States.

She received Junior Library Guild Selection awards for her Hedgehog and Rabbit: The Scary Wind and, more recently, for her children’s comic Tekis. Some of her most successful works are Daniela the Pirate, The Finger and the Nose, Bow-Wow-Meow, and the Monsters trilogy in collaboration with José Carlos Andrés. Her work That Time I Turned Into A Worm was named Children’s Book of the Year (2024) by the Madrid Booksellers Association.
