Alicia Acosta
Writer Nubeocho
This native of Malaga, Spain, was born on a hot spring morning. The instant her mother held her in her arms for the first time, she looked the newborn babe in the eyes and bowed to the truth: “This girl has a lot to tell,” she thought to herself. So she decided to call her Alice, after the famous Lewis Carroll character, and thus in an instant, the path of her life was laid out before her.
A writer and narrator by vacation, Alicia Acosta has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Malaga. But words crossed her path one day and ever since then, she’s lived surrounded by stories, wrapped up in stories . . . She carries stories around with her in her name, on her lips, in her heart, stories that are with her every moment of the day, everywhere she goes.
A champion of reading, a cheerleader of libraries, a contributor to the community radio station Onda Color, she teaches courses in radio drama script writing and acting, stage narration, etc. But writing and telling stories is without a doubt her greatest passion.
Her books Little Captain Jack (El pequeño pirata Serafín) and Peque y yo were both finalists at the International Latino Book Awards in the category of Best Picture Book.
