Jon Klassen was born in Ontario, Canada, and currently lives in Los Angeles. He is the author and illustrator of the #1 New York Times bestseller I Want My Hat Back, which has also been named a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Book, a New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year, and a Publishers Weekly’s Best Children’s Book of the Year. Klassen then delighted readers with another hat in This Is Not My Hat, a New York Times bestseller and winner of the Caldecott Medal, one of the most highly esteemed awards in the world of children’s literature.

He is also the illustrator of House Held Up By Trees, a picture book written by the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Ted Kooser, as well as Cats’ Night Out by Caroline Stutson, Extra Yarn, and Sam and Leo Dig a Hole by Mac Barnett, and Maryrose Wood’s Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series.
