Cristina Expósito was born in Cádiz and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Seville and a master’s degree in applied linguistics (Spanish as a foreign language) from Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid. She has worked in television and, currently, as a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language. She has been writing from the time she was a child. Her mother bought her her first newspaper at age eight, and she hasn’t stopped reading and writing since. Her dream of publishing her first book came true in 2016, a few months before she became a mother.

She has written more than thirty books, some of which have received both national and international awards, including the National Parenting Product Award and the Family Choice Award, both in the United States, and the Silver Medal for Best Illustrated Cover Art and an Honorable Mention in the category of Best Picture Book, both at the International Latino Book Awards, as well as a mention from the Spanish Organization of Children’s and Young People’s Books in 2024, among other recognitions.
